Our Safety Policy

The primary objective of Ports and Terminal Operators Nigeria Limited (PTOL) is to provide her employees with all the necessary Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in accordance with the specific work they are performing and ensuring best condition in the work areas.

Specifically, PTOL policy will be geared towards the following.

      Eliminate and reduce all forms of hazards.
      Maintain properly all plants and equipments.
      Provides the work areas with sign-boards indicating work in progress, restricted areas and other warning/caution signs.
      Maintain onsite flag-mon to ensure the observance of the sign boards.
      Investigate any accidents and near misses to reveal all elements responsible and subsequently eliminate them immediately.
      Recognise excellence in safety efforts of the organization.
      Train the workers, educate them on how to work safely and how to maintain their Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Safety Equipment.
      Minimize our impact on the environment through pollution prevention and control of emissions.
      Protect the health and safety of our people at all times and in all circumstances.
      Conduct half yearly for effectiveness HSE performance and improvements.
      Review the HSE policy periodically or at least every three(3) years to confirm adequacy and suitability.
